Usage Statistics

All colleges and institutions currently subscribed to JISC Vocational Learning Resources are able to request usage statistics from across their subscriptions.

These statistics are broken down into individual* and organisational* log in data, and can be requested between any dates of your choice from the beginning of your subscription.

At present, JISC can only retrieve numerical log-in data rather than the duration of time spent on each resource. The data will be anonymous so Jisc cannot provide you with the names of individual learners etc,.

*Please note that we offer data on organisational logins and individual logins. Organisational data shows how many times a college’s credentials have been used to log in to the resources and individual log in data shows how many unique users have logged in. So, for example, if there are 15 organisational log ins and 5 individual log ins for a service, this means that 5 users logged in a total of 15 times between them during the month.

 

Are statistics available for every Vocational Learning Resource?

Statistics are available for Education & Childcare, Health & Social Care, Digital & IT and Construction training.

Hairdressing is an open resource and as a result we don’t collect organisational or individual usage data due to licensing differentiation.

Can I access my institution’s college statistics myself?

The usage statistics data service is not currently self-serve, however we are working to develop this as an option in the future.

Who should I contact to request my college/institution’s usage statistics?

To obtain your college’s usage statistics – email the FE & Skills helpdesk at content.feandskills@jisc.ac.uk stating your institution’s name, the period you would like to see statistics for (i.e. the previous month) and for which Vocational Learning Resource(s).

My institution/college is part of a merger – what happens now?

Colleges who have merged and are subscribed to JISC Vocational Learning Resources as a single institution are unable to derive their individual statistics.

How are Vocational Learning Resource statistics presented?

In all cases, statistics will be sent back to the enquirer via an Excel spreadsheet.

When can I access usage statistics?

You can access statistics over your preferred time period at any time provided you have emailed the FE & Skills helpdesk. We find most college’s request retrospective monthly data in the first week of the new month.

Can I schedule usage statistics to reach my inbox?

Unfortunately not, we would appreciate if those responsible at your college emailed us on an as-and-when basis. We will always endeavor to get back to you within 48 hours excl. weekends and bank holiday.
