Benefits to your organisation
Save time
Save time finding relevant and up to date digital content as our resources are curriculum mapped, identifying learning objectives clearly through keywords.
Hosted on a dedicated platform so teachers and learners can always access the material and there is no need to download additional software to gain access. The platform is mobile, tablet and cross-browser responsive with a user-centered design.
Support learning by linking to resources directly from your virtual learning environment (VLE). Each resource or lesson has a unique URL so they can be easily shared, navigated to and bookmarked
One-stop-shop which is easy to search through, you can refine by resource type, level, subject, qualification and unit title. You can also search by NOS and curriculum mapped keywords in the search box.
Relevant interactive content which is high quality and developed specifically for FE learners
Convenient guides can be printed and used as supplementary material in lessons, as posters or for homework.
We’ve done the work so you don’t have to, you can focus on using the resources to support and enhance student success.
High value learning resources
Jisc is the only provider of interactive and dynamic content that is both mapped to forthcoming T-Level qualifications as well as units at level 3 for NVQ/SVQ/VRQ while remaining awarding body agnostic.
The service is free for FE Members who sign the licence agreement via the Licence Subscription Manager (LSM).
Content is continually updated to remain mapped to the curriculum, there is no risk of the learning resources becoming obsolete very quickly
Licences offer unlimited, concurrent access and content is fully accessible to learners.
Jisc strives to uphold WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards in both our resources and platform. This includes maintaining that diagrams, text and images have suitable contrast levels to support learners with reading difficulties or the visually impaired.
Learner engagement with resources supporting learning objectives
Extend learner confidence and satisfaction as they know the resources support their studies. All resources are clear about which learning objectives they cover for each QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework) unit.
Learn through a variety of engaging resource types allowing non-linear progression (videos, step-by-step guides, learning activities, quizzes, SCORM, and glossary) that apply to many different learning styles
Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of meaningful learning experiences. Resources were designed to employ Kolb’s theory of experiential learning.
Learning resources adopt gamification principles and scenario-based activities. They’re designed to give the learner different perspectives and make them feel involved in realistic and relatable scenarios.
Resources are mapped to current NOS (National Occupational Standards) which specify UK standards of performance that people are expected to achieve in their work, and the knowledge and skills they need to perform effectively in their roles.
Modules are non-linear so learners can choose their own pathway, enabling them to take control of their independent study.
Opportunities for learners to work at their own pace, accessing resources when and where they need to as the platform is mobile-friendly.
Increase teaching practitioner confidence in using digital resources
Our resources are ready to use, saving teaching practitioners time and supporting non-subject specialist teaching practitioners when they need to cover the subject area
Encouraging use of the resources outside of the classroom offers teaching practitioners extended time with learners to focus on deeper learning (flipped learning).
Content is engaging for learners, keeping learners focused for longer and can help to motivate harder to reach learners with dynamic content.
The resources operate at higher levels of Blooms taxonomy encouraging learners to create new knowledge based on the principles learned.
The learning content has been created by teaching practitioners who are currently teaching these subjects in FE colleges so you can be assured that they’re pedagogically sound.
All content is inclusive, giving equal access and opportunities to everyone wherever possible.
Learning objectives are at the top of the resource pages, clearly defined and matching the curriculum.
There is a wide range of supporting material embedded in each learning resource. Transcripts are provided to assist lesson planning.
